BOOSTER MEETING MINUTES HIGHLIGHTS

October 2024

Regular Monthly Meeting

Tracey Hofmann called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM

 

Attendees:  Jeff Adams, Trevor Cezair, Linda Collazo, Jason Gallagher, Jodi Gorenberg, Tracey Hofmann, Tim Keleher, Seth Mirowitz, Myra Ortega

Greetings and introductions with new attendees.

September 16, 2024 meeting minutes approved.

 

Music Report​

Fall Preview Concert 10/30 at 7:30PM – all music groups to perform.

 

Marching Band

  • Marching Band increased their score by 9 points at the 10/19 Cavalcade of Bands competition.

  • New choreography and other show revisions are being implemented based on feedback from the competition judges.

  • MB rehearsal on 10/23 will be moved up to 12PM to 2:30PM on account of the early dismissal day.

  • East football is in the playoffs! Quarter final playoff game to be held on Friday, 11/1. Marching band to perform. Details to follow.

  • If East football advances in the playoffs, MB rehearsals will continue on a once a week basis. Details to follow.

  • Cavalcade of Bands Championships Contest Saturday, 11/2. Details to follow.

  • Marching Band Awards Dinner to be held on Monday, 11/4.

  • Marching Band Hayride to be held on Wednesday, 11/13.

Instrumental Departments

  •  Jazz Standards had their first performance at BTSN on 9/19 with one experienced member and the rest new to the group. Their performance was well received.

  • String Orchestra will perform to open Rowan University’s Symphony Orchestra season premier.  String Orchestra earned this coveted honor for having won last year’s competition under the leadership of Gabriela Mandescu.

  • 10th grader Matteo Lucchi won the Temple Music Prep solo competition for violin.

  • The Chamber Groups will be performing a concert at the Cherry Hill Free Public Library on 12/19, 12PM to 1PM.

  • Clarinet Choir to begin performances in the spring.

  • Interest in the formation of a Flute Choir is being explored.

  • The Jazz Band Cavalcade schedule dates will be released on 11/5. Tim Keleher to scout dates and coordinate with the players for scheduling purposes. The goal is to schedule 3 or 4 dates.

  • Temple Jazz at Lincoln Center competition with awards and scholarship money for winning students may be attended this spring. Details to follow.

  • Jazz Band will perform 12/20 at Beck, Harte, and Sharpe schools.

Vocal/Choral Department

The three small groups, Voce, Belles, and Stay Tuned will perform at Radio City Music Hall on 12/11 and will stay for the show. Details and information on how to purchase tickets will be provided to families once finalized.

  • Voce, Belles, and Stay Tuned will perform at Cherry Hill Winter Festival at 2PM on 12/8.

  • Voce, Belles, and Stay Tuned will perform for the Haddonfield Candlelight shopping on 12/20, 6PM to 8:30PM with an end performance at the Ellis Street Gazebo.

  • Rolo Dilworth has been engaged to work with the choral groups on 1/24/25.

  • Cherry Hill East to host an ICHSA competition on 2/8/25. Boosters will help provide volunteer support for this exciting event.

Membership Report/ Treasurer Report

 Total memberships - 82; New Members - 56.

  • New membership breakdown: 7 Premium; 20 Gold; 20 Silver; 7 Student/Alumni; 2 Faculty; 1 Donation.

  • Booster table with Membership T-shirt distribution and membership promotion at the Fall Preview Concert.

  • Booster FAQ sheet to be finalized for the Fall Preview Concert to help encourage parent involvement and interest in attending a Booster meeting and/or volunteering in some capacity.

  • Dine and Donate fundraiser to be held 11/13 at Panera Bread, Marlton 4PM to 8PM.

 

Adjournment/ Next Meeting

  • Next meeting to be held November 18, 2024 at 7PM.

  • East Music Booster meetings to be held on the 3rd Monday of each month.

  • Meeting adjournment at 8 PM.
